One of the best things about summertime is being able to spend weekend afternoons hanging pool side with a good book. We were recently sent a copy of Stories from the Magic Kingdom, a new publication for adult Disney fans from Theme Park Press. Being lovers of both Disney and books we couldn't wait to dive in!
The book is co authored by two former Disney cast members and contains six short stories inspired by the lands within the Magic Kingdom:
- Now Approaching Main Street Station
- Jungle Navigation Co. Episode LXXI
- The Real Housewives of the Haunted Mansion
- Mine for the Taking
- Wickedly Ever After
- The Adventures of Mr. Tom Morrow
One of the things we love about the Disney parks is all of the attention to story development behind the attractions. Stories from the Magic Kingdom goes a step further with new tales and characters living within these fictional places. We loved the variety between the different stories and how each tale was crafted to represent a land with story theme, characters and writing style. Disney buffs will certainly notice well placed phrases, tid bits of insider info, and nods to Disney knowledge. Having each story based on attractions was such a neat concept, it was like taking a familiar walk down Main Street but discovering something new along the way. Experience mystery, adventure, humor and romance with this light, fun read. Stories from the Magic Kingdom is perfect to read while on vacation (or while at home missing the happiest place on earth!). We also were in love with the cool E-ticket cover art and the retro styled posters developed for each mini story. This book was certainly made by Disney fans for Disney fans!
Stories of the Magic Kingdom is available for purchase on amazon HERE.
